The Hellfire Club is a highly secretive social faction that is said to be highly influential in political circles and whose membership is made up entirely of some of the most wealthy, famous and powerful people on the planet. Most major cities have their own branch of the club. Each branch is ruled by a small group of people called the Inner Circle whose numbers and ranks correspond to the colours (black and white) and pieces (pawn, knight, bishop, rook, king and queen) with the rest of the branch's population consisting of members who remain mostly unaware of the secret world they are so close to.
Membership is gained in one of two ways: inheritance from either of one's biological parents or by invitation from a particular branch's inner circle. Everyone else simply has to settle for the occasional invite from a member for the evening. Those who inherit their membership usually make their debut in or around the time they come of age (i.e. 16 to 18 years old) while invited members tend to be comparatively older when they make their debut (although this isn't always the case). Position is not hereditary, so it's just as likely for a first-generation member to become part of the Inner Circle as it is for the offspring of a King to never hold a rank of importance: the club judges by individual merit.

Semester I Summary
Professor Charles Xavier opens the Xavier University for Gifted Youth's doors to his first class of mutant youth along with his colleague and long-time friend, Erik Lehnsherr (aka "Magneto").
En Sabah Nur (aka "Apocalypse") brings the Acolytes he has recruited in the previous year to Nebraska to temporary join forces with Dr. Nathaniel Essex and the Marauders he employs for purposes that are yet unrevealed.
Malice enters XU in the body of Lorna Dane to gather intel for Essex and Apocalypse.
October - November 2014
Clarice Ferguson, a mutant with the ability to teleport long distances, is attacked in the subway tunnels of Manhattan while searching for a group of mutant called the Morlocks rumoured to be living down there by Malice and taken to Essex's compound in Nebraska.
Apocalypse's henchmen continue to gather various resources.
The students of XU make friends, settle into classes and begin working on controlling their powers with the teachers.
Both the Acolytes and Marauders launch an attack on the XU campus just before the winter holidays. A bomb is set off outside of a classroom on the ground floor (breaking down a wall in the explosion, shattering all the windows on the front of the building, shaking the foundation of the mansion and injuring several people) to create a distraction while mutant from both groups sneak inside the school to carry out the main objective of their mission: capturing various students.
Several students (Rachel Grey, Brian Braddock, Kitty Pryde & Cecilia Reyes) are kidnapped from the school by either Acolyte or Marauder lackeys for unknown reasons.
XU begins to make repairs to the property.
Professor X begins using Cerebro to search for the missing students but cannot detect them for unknown reasons.

This is the thread that you post to when you want to reserve a character. Remember, reservations only last a week from the time you registered and you must have the bio accepted (as well as post in character) before reserving another.
Only exception to this rule are members that have been playing for a single semester in game. When you have been around for this long then you may reserve a character of your choosing to put into play in the coming school term or the next semester in game and you will be given until the specified time to post a bio. If you do not post a bio at that time then the character will go up for grabs again.

"….THAT NIGHT I CAME TO STARE IN THE FACE OF
OF FEAR: BEHIND HER GLASSY EYES I NOTICED YOU, MY DEAR…"
What if Xavier's University was never founded and Apocalypse's reign of terror never came to pass? What if before either side could make a move the world as our mutants know it was ravaged by a plague which killed and then reanimated most of the world's population?
Now, during our halloween event (October 2014), is your chance to find out! Write your character's story as they fight to survive the hardships of a post-apocalyptic world and hopefully find a safe place to exist out of the reach of the hordes looking for their next meal…
