Jason is a creeper

</div></div><div id="theothreadhldr"><div id="theothreadcntnt">

Classes were simply going through the motions at this point but Jason still did go through those steps even if the entirety of the school was still held hostage in a way to current events. He came down the stairs mostly distracted by the book in his hand as he finished the reading he intended to get done today. It was something to lose himself in while he didn't think of upcoming bouts or being around Cecilia after everything. That last thing was at least becoming easier even if it wasn't quite back to normal. He didn't feel as if she was simply going to jump out the window to her death every time anyone glanced away for long enough and they could now hold a conversation but the ease of talking to her was just not there yet. It wasn't a great surprise to him but usually this wasn't the reason people had been ill at ease talking with him in the past. <p>

He turned to the last page as he got to the door of the sitting room but something pulled him from his reading. A familiar voice hit his ears and Jason's spine stiffened until logic caught up to him. No, that certainly wasn't happening. He forced himself on into the room though and frowned as the television, turned down low at least, had a televangelist screaming for hate or money. The only occupant of the room was only a somewhat familiar red-haired woman not much older than him if any seemingly as absorbed in her reading as he had been a moment before. <p>

"Are you...watching this?" Jason couldn't help the distaste in his voice as he motioned back to the television, wondering who in the school had actually put something like this on. He was supposed to be here to be among sensible like-minded people but maybe there were a few people that weren't quite on the same wave-length as he was if this was on the viewing itinerary at all. He glanced back to the television as the sweaty and mustachioed man banged his pulpit, walking from it so that he might froth more freely. "I cannot believe they even broadcast this." His lip curled almost unwillingly as he claimed one of the armchairs to sink down into. Whether she was watching this or not Jason wasn't going to let such things move him out of a room. He had enough of that sort of garbage before he had come here and wouldn't fall into such behaviours again.

Coming Down

</div></div><div id="theothreadhldr"><div id="theothreadcntnt">

He hadn't actually been in his own dorm aside for the very brief stay that had resulted in him finding a most unwanted note since the battle and it almost seemed wrong stepping into the place. A part of him just wanted to go crash in Ginny's room again but that was rather silly of him and also far, far too needy than Jason would ever in a million years admit to being. Still, it had been a nice break after everything but it wasn't as if he could put much off now.<p>

He opened the door to find that nothing had been touched from when he left the day before. That wasn't much of a surprise; Jason was fairly sure that Scott wouldn't touch something on his side of the bed with a ten foot pole which, actually, was one of the better points of being roommates with Mr. Summers. Jason let the door shut behind him, leaning against it for a moment as he was quite glad to find that, for now, he had the room to himself. Soon enough, Scott should be back from his class so that wasn't going to last long and what Jason needed to do right now was to pull himself together enough to be around people.<p>

The first thing that needed to be sorted was his bed with the book that had played host to Cecilia's note tossed haphazardly at the foot. The book found itself in his hands soon enough and, instead of putting it away as he had intended when picking it up, Jason sank down to sit in the spot it had been in and turned the book over in his hands. He could quite vividly imagine Cecilia picking the book up and cramming the note inside, hurrying out the door to do what she had written about before she lost the nerve to go through with the stupid action. That was one downside of his nature and his power; he had developed a far-too vivid imagination for his liking.<p>

He sat with the book, slumping forward in on himself some as he lost track of time, just sitting.

Oh Shit Redux

</div></div><div id="theothreadhldr"><div id="theothreadcntnt">

The time spent detoxing from the whole situation with Ginny had been well needed and had done as well as anything could have but almost immediately after returning to the school Jason had grabbed his textbooks and notebooks and made something of a nest for himself near Cecilia. It was amazing the things you could get done while considerably irritated and running off an energy almost completely fed by that irritation. It was a sensation Jason was all too familiar with but it never did stop astounding him. There was probably something bad to be said about writing all of the term papers you could manage while under the influence of such anger but as far as Jason could see everything was coming up roses on that front. <p>

It was what he was actually going to say to Cecilia upon her waking up that wasn't exactly coming along. Scenario after scenario had played through Jason's head even before he had made it back home but each one veered off on a new course entirely and he couldn't help but dislike each place it ended up in. Jason Wyngarde was surely not the kind of person someone needed to comfort them after something like this. As he saw it he was far more likely to drive someone <i>towards</i> not wanting to be in this world any longer than wanting to stick around and there was a huge part of him that couldn't help but get itchy fingers wanting to just smack across Cecilia's face the moment she seemed to be coming out of her sedation. <p>

No, he was definitely not made for this but here he was, scribbling away at another project for one of Xavier's classes with gritted teeth and a frustration only over-thinkers truly knew. The more he considered things the more grim it all became and the more he just wanted to yell his points across with the same angry energy he had the night before but that wasn't going to work one bit. He was at a complete loss.

A Most Welcome Diversion

</div></div><div id="theothreadhldr"><div id="theothreadcntnt">

Jason had lingered as much as he could but there were only so many times Professor Lehnsherr could gently shoo before it got more than a little persistent. He wanted to go on watching just to see some kind of resolution even though he knew full well there couldn't be one tonight; not anything quick so that he could rest peacefully tonight. Jason wasn't a very restful sleeper to begin with and after the battle and after Cecilia he doubted very much he would be getting any sleep tonight. Of course, the night was also still young but that was something he wasn't even sure he had the wherewithal to fill. It hadn't even been so long that he had been locking horns with Cecilia and her demons but he couldn't help but feel strangely lost, as if he had missed something vital even though it seemed more than likely that everyone else were the ones in the dark. He wasn't entirely sure he wanted to catch up with the rest of the school as he clutched the sign he had ripped off of Cecilia's door. Burying his head in the sand almost sounded like a relief but Jason knew full well that temptation was a lie. If he did try it he would find no rest but plenty of resentment as his inner monologue ran rampant. <p>

He didn't put much thought at all into where he was going except that he didn't want to go back to his own dorm just yet. No, he didn't want to test the waters with Scott even though they were getting on a good deal better. Now was not the time or the mood he wanted to be in to subject himself to Scott or to subject Scott to himself. He didn't exactly want to be anywhere in the school where he ran the chance to be around more people than he was able to handle which, at the moment, was just about anyone but he didn't want to be alone either...that was certainly a new sensation. <p>

He bypassed his won door rather easily and stepped to the next down. Right now was a time for snap decisions and that wasn't something that, unless he was under extreme duress, Jason didn't come naturally to. Unluckily, he would say this night certainly qualified as extreme duress and he didn't hesitate to knock on the door in front of him, the sharp noise of knuckles on wood followed by a question. "Ginny, are you in? We should go do something." It was a strange request from him for certain but Jason didn't even know what to suggest with his brain overcrowded with adrenaline and anxieties.

The flight to Chicago had been tense but this was a different tension now. He could see it in the people in the plane now and no amount of looking out at the ocean below could keep the feeling of dread out of his mind. Jason imagined it was the same for most everyone else but nobody seemed to be bold enough to breech the subject just yet. He wasn't sure he wanted them to do so, either. <p>

One of the staff members had a newsfeed up and it wasn't much in the way of comfort but Jason made himself listen anyway. From what he was hearing Jason had to admit that he wasn't even sure what it was they were about to walk in on. Everything had started this morning with thousands of people vanishing into all-too familiar portals seemingly without any rhyme nor reason until things started happening where they were more than likely sent to. Everything coming from there, though, was confused and not much else was getting out. <p>

Jason wasn't a big fan at all about walking into any place blind. He shifted in his seat, glancing away from the window and around at people again. He could see the anxiety etched in faces after what had happened in Wakanda and in London. They might have two people back but whatever Rachel was being made to do now had some new elements of danger to it. Suddenly having two people back didn't fill him with over-brimming confidence.
